Executive Summary
Integrating Workday® back into your existing landscape is often seen as challenging but why is this? The simple truth is that HR technology is a complicated area, there can be many countries involved with diverse legal requirements in terms of data collection and privacy. Further there are a plethora of system vendors out their in all regions. This means standardising on Workday® only solves one side of the problem. The other is the disperse array of rules and systems.
Firstly, In this instance the best strategy is to try and standardise as much as possible on Workday®.
Secondly use a heavily weight integration tool to standardise where possible your data flows, further be prepared to have a logic engine bolted on to Workday® either using several custom Workday Studio® integrations or cloud applications which will be enviably required to heavily transform data to/from Workday and at times preform calculations where Workday should not and where a given vendor cannot perform the necessary calculations in the UI.
Finally don't do any of this without a really experienced Workday Integration Consultant with multiple years of expierence. We believe we are best placed to help you in this endeavour but many other companies would say the same thing. In our case it is true :) but regardless of your decision of selected integration partner please do remember this advice.
